Farsoon Europe GmbH and Saturne Technology are proud to announce that Saturne Technology has acquired the Farsoon FS811M-U metal additive manufacturing system, marking a major advancement for Europe’s and the global aerospace industry’s capabilities in large-format metal additive manufacturing (AM).
This strategic acquisition represents a decisive step in enabling industrial-scale production and validation of large, high-value aerospace components within Europe — offering localized capacity, process reliability, and quality systems aligned with leading aerospace OEM and tier-supplier requirements.
Through this collaboration, Saturne and Farsoon aim to establish a new benchmark for next-generation aerospace manufacturing, combining Farsoon’s industrial AM technology with Saturne’s expertise in precision engineering, post-processing, and qualification. Together, they will accelerate the transition of metal AM from prototyping to aerospace-grade production and program validation for demanding applications.

The FS811M-U features an extra-tall 1.7 m Z-axis and an 840 × 840 mm platform, equipped with 10 × 1000 W fiber lasers with beam shaping, coupled with advanced multi-laser scanning strategies for uniform properties on oversize parts and high-throughput production across the large build area. The system integrates optimized gas-flow management, tight chamber sealing for low oxygen and inert-gas consumption, and a long-life filtration system — ensuring consistent quality and productivity during extended production cycles.

The system will become the centerpiece of Saturne’s new large-format metal AM production cell, fully integrated with in-house machining, heat treatment, and quality-control infrastructure. Once operational, the FS811M-U will enable qualified metal-parts production at industrial scale, bridging the gap between prototyping, validation, and serial manufacturing.
