August 13, 2021 – BASF Forward AM announced the grand opening of the Additive Manufacturing Technology Center (AMTC) in Shanghai, China, in collaboration with Xuberance, a 3D Printing design and service company. Combining their expertise in high-performance engineering materials and design, the new AMTC will serve as a 3D printing technology hub offering 3D printing design, material innovation, value-added technical services and advanced application solutions for customers in Asia-Pacific region.

The AMTC is located in Shanghai Lingang Science and Technology City, a rapid-growing technical hub hosting a number of industry companies in the field of lean manufacturing and 3D printing. The new AMTC center will enable future regional partnerships and co-innovation for encouraging the deeper industrial use of additive manufacturing using BASF materials. With over 20 3D printers on site covering a variety of the major additive platforms on market, BASF AMTC has chosen to invest into the Farsoon HT403P machine, and to strengthen collaboration with Farsoon in regional projects.

Farsoon has established a long-term partnership with both BASF and Xuberance. In 2014, Farsoon started to partner with Xuberance for design and innovation projects, as well as the production of direct components on Farsoon machines. Farsoon started an in-depth R&D collaboration with BASF in 2015, focused on engineering high-temperature materials development for the laser powder bed fusion process, which was successfully commercialized since 2018. Farsoon is proud to keep supporting industry partners with our truly open, and productive, machine platform that allow users to achieve their industrial application success with complete freedom of material selection and operational flexibility.

With the open platform, high-temperature capable Farsoon HT403P system, the AMTC plans on a number of projects on BASF’s high-performance materials, to support industry customers with material and application specific 3D printing solutions and services.

In the upcoming Rapid + tct event held in Chicago, IL next month, Farsoon Americas will be displaying a variety of industrial parts produced with BASF Ultrasint series powders. Customers interested are welcome to visit us at booth #7222, or contact us: info@farsoonam.com!
