November 20th, 2025 – Formnext, Frankfurt, Germany – Farsoon Technologies announces the global launch of the FS1211M, a large-format metal Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) platform engineered for industrial-scale manufacturing. Featuring up to 16 fiber lasers and one of the largest build volumes on the market, the FS1211M is designed to meet the demanding requirements of aerospace, oil & gas, and energy sectors for producing large, high-integrity components with superior efficiency and lower cost-per-part.
Engineered for Productivity and Oversized Part Manufacturing
The FS1211M addresses a key industry challenge: serial production of large-scale components. With a massive 1583-liter build envelope (1330 x 700 x 1700 mm) and extended X and Z axes both exceeding one meter, users can unlock new application potential, particularly for industries that require oversized parts with bi-axial favor. The system’s multi-laser architecture, configurable with 10 or 16 robust 500-watt lasers with high-speed galvo systems, delivers production yields of up to 400 cm³/h. For the customer, this translates directly to faster throughput and a more competitive total cost of ownership for end-use parts.
Full-Field Consistency and Superior Part Quality
A common pain point in large-format metal AM is maintaining consistent material properties and mechanical performance across the entire build plate. The FS1211M tackles this through an advanced chamber airflow system. Through iterative simulation and design, the engineered wind field offers uniformed flows across the build chamber; Combined with optimized vent designs and flow guidance, ensures a stable processing environment. The result for the user is exceptional, repeatable print quality with excellent surface finish and superior mechanical properties in the final part, batch after batch.
Streamlined and Sustainable Production
The FS1211M is designed as an integrated production cell including 3-station workflow (build, breakout, and extract) with an internal conveyor streamlines part handling – maximizing operational efficiency for serial production. The closed-loop, contact-less powder handling system is a cornerstone of sustainable manufacturing. Utilizing a common modular container for loading, recycling, and sieving under full inert gas protection, it ensures a highly efficient and continuous powder supply. This streamlined process allows users to easily monitor powder quality, leading to increased material efficiency and reduced waste. Finally, a permanent filtration system enables uninterrupted operations for the long build times associated with large-format parts, ensuring maximum machine uptime.
As with all Farsoon systems, the FS1211M is built on a truly Open Platform, providing users with the flexibility to tailor process parameters, materials, and software to their specific application needs, fostering innovation and achieving cost-competitive metal additive manufacturing.
