September 11, 2017 – Farsoon, an industry leading 3D printing system provider, and BASF, the world’s largest chemical company continue their five-year collaboration to provide high performance 3D printing systems and materials.

BASF recently announced a new Group Company, BASF 3D Printing Solutions GmbH, as of September 1, 2017,. The new company headquartered in Heidelberg, Germany will focus on establishing and expanding the business with materials, system solutions, components and services in the field of 3D printing. The company will work closely with researchers and application engineers from BASF and external partners, such as universities and potential customers, in order to develop the right solutions for a wide array of requirements.

In 2015, this partnership created and introduced to the 3D printing world a high-performance PA6 material from BASF. Farsoon was able to bring extensive competencies in machine development and material processing to the partnership. Farsoon’s open material and process parameter business model also enabled a more collaborative relationship between the two companies. This relationship led to the release of multiple high temperature capable systems such as the HT252P, ST252P, and recently introduced HT403P which debuted at Formnext 2016. These systems will lower customer costs while providing high temperature capable additive manufacturing solutions for automotive and other applications.

“Farsoon is a very important partner to us. They have a world-class R&D team and have been promoting the industrialization of 3D printing by introducing the concept of an open-platform. We believe we will be able to provide the customers with the best 3D printing solutions and services through the cooperation with Farsoon,” said Dr. Dirk Simon, Business Director of BASF 3D Printing Solutions GmbH.

This collaboration demonstrates the dedication and desire of BASF and Farsoon to industrialize 3D printing through advanced materials and systems. BASF currently operates numerous Farsoon high temperature laser sintering systems. These systems provide BASF advanced capabilities for new 3D printing application and material R&D.

Founder and President of Farsoon, Dr. Xu Xiaoshu commented on the partnership by saying, “The success of cooperation between Farsoon and BASF is based on the common goal of industrializing 3D printing. In the future close cooperation, we will share the advantage resources on R&D, technology, machines, materials and applications in order to provide the customers with the most valuable industrialized 3D printing solutions.”
