Farsoon Introduces FS722M for Industrial Series Production

Nov. 05, 2026

Building on the successful FS721M and FS721M-H with customer-driven improvements and a CAMS production workflow.

Farsoon Technologies introduces the FS722M, an improved new generation of its large-format metal powder bed fusion (PBF) platform. Building on the successful launch and production experience of the FS721M and FS721M-H, the FS722M reflects continuous improvement driven by listening to series-production customers. Its development focuses on the priorities that matter in daily manufacturing: reliable operation, repeatable processes and productive use of equipment.

Large Format Capacity and Multi Laser Productivity

A 720 × 420 × 650 mm build envelope and eight 1,000 W lasers provide capacity for automotive components, tooling inserts and large machinery parts. The rectangular build area accommodates elongated components, while the 650 mm build height provides flexibility for tall parts and vertical nesting where the application allows.

The eight-laser configuration offers build rates of up to 1,000 cm³/h, depending on material, process parameters and build conditions. A beam-shaping configuration is intended to offer additional process flexibility. For production customers, the value lies in translating printing capacity into repeatable output and a competitive cost per qualified part.

Process Consistency for Reliable Production

High-precision digital optics, customizable scanning strategies support consistent process performance across the build platform. An enhanced multi-layer gas flow system and an upgraded recoater blade support stable powder spreading and reliable layer formation.

These developments reflect Farsoon’s focus on improving process consistency through successive platform generations. Together with application-specific process qualification, they support the repeatability required for industrial series production.

CAMS: Enabling Higher Equipment Utilization

The CAMS concept uses exchangeable build cartridges to separate part removal and preparation from printing. The proposed workflow uses a conveyor to transfer cartridges between the machine and an external loading dock. A completed cartridge moves to an inerted breakout station for part removal and processing, while another cartridge is prepared for the next production cycle.

By moving these activities outside the build station, the approach is designed to reduce non-printing time and improve equipment utilization. The achievable benefit depends on the released automation configuration, cartridge exchange sequence and the customer’s production workflow.

Closed-Loop Powder Management and Automation

To further reduce manual intervention and improve operational efficiency, the FS722M-CAMS incorporates a fully automated, closed-loop powder handling system. Powder recycling, sieving, storage, and fresh powder feeding are integrated within a protected inert environment, helping maintain material integrity while simplifying routine material handling.

A long-life integrated filtration module also streamlines maintenance, with routine servicing simplified to dust-bin emptying. By integrating powder management and filtration into the production workflow, the system helps reduce operator workload and support a cleaner, more efficient manufacturing environment.

Intelligent Monitoring for Greater Production Visibility

Farsoon’s integrated software package provides comprehensive process monitoring and production management capabilities. Critical parameters, including laser power, gas flow, and chamber temperature, are monitored in real time, while in-chamber cameras provide visual verification of each completed layer.

This combination of process monitoring and visual inspection gives operators greater visibility into build conditions, supports timely process intervention, and helps maintain production consistency and traceability.

Continuous improvement for Production Economics

The FS722M advances an established platform through customer-driven development. Combining multi-laser capacity with process control and a production-oriented workflow is intended to help manufacturers improve reliability, reduce non-productive time and make better use of installed capacity. Actual cost per qualified part depends on the material, application, build layout and validated operating process.

Farsoon will continue to translate feedback from series-production customers into improvements in machine design, process performance and workflow integration, supporting the practical expansion of metal additive manufacturing into industrial production.
